Last Friday (9th) ice was 10" solid with little to no snow just outside the bulrushes. We had a little snow the other day so there may be a little snow now. Water clarity where we were was 3' or better. Me and a friend got about 20 bass from 9" to 16" and about a dozen bluegill in the 6" to 7.5" range. My friend took fish home and said not many grubs. Others I know have had much better luck, others worse. Unless you get lucky you will have to do some searching to find fish. We drilled about 28 holes to find a few here and there. The lake has been filling so there may be some edge ice issues. Good luck

My friend was up there 3 days in a row saturday, sunday, and monday. and couldnt find the fish anywhere. In the 3 days he was out he only caught 6 gills and one bass that was it. Yesterday he went out again no fish, he also told me the ice was 3 to 5 inches on the eastside. Hope the weather cools down some time soon.

I spoke with DWR after the ice clinic and they said rainbow fishing was decent but perch were small and fishing slow. Ice is good on most of the lake.

Any news on Pelican lately? Is there enough snow for a snowmobile? Thanks!

Sorry, somehow I missed your response. I didn't ask since I wasn't planning a visit yet but I would assume tube jigs, paddle bugs, Maniac Cuttr's, rattling spoons, CJ Demons all tipped with night crawlers, wax worms or meal worms would work there as they do in most every other lake I fish out here.

Haven't been out past there for a while but we haven't gotten much snow anywhere in the Basin. I don't think there would be much more than maybe an inch on it. Hopefully someone else will have better info for you.
