Who's up for a redmond pike BFT trip on the 31?
#1
I'm heading to redmond with the wife on the 31 of jan, for some pike fishing and if anyone want to come along and learn how to fish for those toothy fish I'll be glad to help you all out. and show you the places I like to fish there. I might take my 12 foot boat but not sure I have done just as good from shore. but if anyone wants to go we will be there. we will also be there on feb 14 for valentine's weekend thats what we do every year now.

redmond is about 6 miles north of salina utah and thats north ofrichfield and south of gunnison it's about 135 miles from SLC but it's a nice little lake to fish in the winter there are warm spings in it so it stays open. plus it's one of the few places in the state with pike and the best bet in the state to hook one.

Moose i live here in richfield and i have a new '04 fishing licence just itching to get some use, i think i could make it there, would you be fising early morning, is there anything i would need to bring such as steel leader, big treble hooks, minnows, last time i tried i went with ocean and fuzzyfisher and we fished a minnow under a bobber. who knows i might have to get the gf a licence also so she can join us ( i promiced her last year that i would help her to catch a fish).

My friend Brad went down to Redmond last Sunday. Lake was froze up solid. He's been telling me for weeks that Redmond never freezes. Wasn't a very happy camper after driving all the way down there.
He has gone down a few times lately. Caught a 30" inch toothy critter on a no. 2 vibrax spinner last weekend.

what I mostly fish with is ancovs under a buble on a shinner rig.(thats two hooks to make it sit like the real thing) I also use a 6 in steel leader most of the time but if you use fireline or something like that you souldn't need the steel leader.

I also like to use 5 of dimonds spoon in differt sizes. and spinner baits.

as for Ice being there I never seen it froze but that doesn't mean it cant. I'll try and get a hold of my buddy down there and find out the news.
