Can't tell you much about the north end as we went to Provo Harbor. I went with my fiancee wanting to introduce her to the ice version of fishing even though we weren't expecting a lot of action from that location with things how they have been lately.
Ice was a good 3-4 inches in the harbor, safe to walk on, but we didn't want to stray much from the docks anyway, so I drilled a few holes along the dock and we tried some different things out. There's was a little water on top of the ice around the docks, but it was more dry further out. Not really any slush or snow, even though it's been warm (we were overdressed and overheating).
Luckily (and in keeping with the general trend when I fish with Carlie) she outfished me, catching the first and only fish, an average-sized white bass. I'm happy that she didn't get skunked though. We were only there for about an hour and a half.
She caught him on a small orange plastic ice fly with a couple of white Gulp! Maggots, in 5' or so of water, probably higher up in the water column than I would have expected to find anything. But hey, I'll let her catch and my skunk speak for themselves
