I went up to Strawberry yesterday afternoon for a couple hours to check the ice conditions. I went on the north end of the lake by the highway. I found the ice to be anywhere from 8-12" thick. Closer to the shore was thicker of course. There was a lot of fresh snow up there and the hike from the parking lot to the ice dragging my QuikFlipII was brutal. I didn't catch any fish in the short time I was there, but felt like the ice was really solid. I'm definitely going to get up there on an early morning in the next few days and try my luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
The ice only had about 4" of snow on it, but the walk from the truck down to the ice had about 2' and was a tough hike sinking with every step.
