hyrum parking
#1
Can anyone tell me how much it costs to park at hyrum? I want to take my kids to catch some finless Freddies this weekend.

If you drive to water edge beach access parking, its $8 per vehicle..Or you can park free up top and walk the easy trail down (still the beach area), but they also request a $3 walking access fee...no joke! You can also park near the area called Big Toe, and walk and park all for free....BUT the trail can be a real pain... slippery steep angles with sleds are sometimes hard to navigate. The back hike up can also be a chore...but not horrible.

Thanks for your help. Is there any snow on the ice right now? I don't want to drive all the way up to the lake so my kids can slip on the ice and bust up there head. We can bust our heads at Mantua and it would be closer.

Ice skates for the kids!

You can get on the SW end of the lake w/o going through the park.
You can park at the top of the hill outside for free. I don't know if the park service minds if you take a quick drive down to drop off or pick up gear. Still gotta walk the hill, but maybe don't gotta drag a sled up!

Now - if I had a parks pass, but walked in, where would I hang the pass? [crazy]
