Hey everybody just looking for an ice conditions report from rockport recently, im sure its similar in conditions to echo but wanted to be sure.
Hit Echo yesterday and it was alot better around the shoreline than a week before that. Ice was 7-8 inches thick.
Just haven't made a drive to Rockport to see.
thanks for any info

My sources (which I trust) told me it was a solid 6" clear ice and good edges. Fishing report wasn't so hot but ice was good.

Sweet, thank you.
That is what I wanted to hear.
Hoping to find a few perch to fry!

I'm interested in this info as well. Looking to take my son on a fish trip tomorrow for his birthday and was looking at rockport or strawberry but been having a hard time getting current ice conditions at rockport.
Also I've only caught trout at rockport in the past. Would love any starting point hints anyone could share for making a reasonable effort at perch there as well. Thanks.

Most perch are caught within 6" of the bottom.
Lower your tiny jig down till it hits bottom, lift 6" and watch for the slightest movement of the spring tip.
What? No spring tip? No perch!
Actually you can catch them without a spring tip, but you will do much better with one.
Remember, slightest movement.
