There are no perch in echo
#1
At least that is the way it looked for me today. Walked to the highway side about 8. There was a tent where I was going to fish so I moved east. Cut a hole set up the vex and dropped my line. Watched a big red blip come off the bottom and I was sure it was a hog perch. Nope, a 15" bow slid to the surface. I thought what the heck it's still going to be a hot day. That was the only fish in 6 hours. One other bite. At times it would look like perch on the bottom but they would not commit. Forage minnows, ratfinkes, Gizzies , gazillas. Big or small 10' to 40'. I drilled at least 35 to 40 holes almost a 1/4 mile stretch. It was a fairly nice day weather wise. The ice was grey and the auger cut like a hot knife through butter. Edges were OK however we need some serious cold weather. What a fickle lake. This was one of the days I should have taken my Aqua view.

OH, there in there but getting them to bite is the other problem, if anyone can figure out what they want I would be interested to know what it is. The perch have been as picky in this lake as I have ever seen for the last couple years and I don't understand why. If anyone has the answer I would sure like to know what's going on with them.
Does anyone know if the DWR has done any netting surveys on Echo recently?
