I fished Starvation again today from my tube. Fished the Rabbit Gulch open water from 9:00 until 1:00 and caught one 16" brown and that was the only hit I had. I used a fast sink (#7) line and a size 6 bead head olive leech with a gold rib. The reservoir level has come up almost a foot since I fished it on the 6th. It appears as if there is some more open water showing up because of that. I didn't see anyone ice fishing at the bridge today, or anywhere else for that matter but the weather wasn't the greatest either. I think I 'd better go back to Deer Creek where the fishing is much better. Besides now we can get a free wash job when we get out over there.[:/]

I hope the cold is better for a Tuesday trip.
Good luck when you go.
I'm going to give it another try tomorrow since there are not many options for floating your boat. I'm surprised that there aren't more folks fishing the open water. I guess everyone is into ice fishing now since it looks like it might be a short season for them.[:/]

Even though I enjoy ice fishing it isn't my preferred method. I enjoy the open water most. Especially when I can get out on my toon. I hope the cold is better too. Thanks!

Where I went along the edge of the ice it looked to be 2" - 3" thick but I wouldn't feel comfortable on it. The west half of Rabbit Gulch is frozen over but I'd be real careful if I were you.[:/]
