] Special thanks to TyeDye twins, Chucker, Whipper-snapper and doggonefishin for their advice on Fish Lake last week. Gathered the family and made the 3.5 hour drive down to Fish Lake, our first time there. Had a great time! Catching was fast and awesome. Reminded me of the old days at Rockport-plentiful perch (7.5"-8.5") and trout when you wanted them.
Ice was a good 9" thick, 4" newly fallen snow, beautiful! Quite a few people out but it did not slow the catching! 25'-30' FOW was our best depth for perch, 10-14' for trout. Took home 2 five gallon buckets full of perch and about 16 trout (caught many more). 7 hours of driving, 6 hours of fishing and 2 hours of non stop filleting (4 of us), made for a long yet productive day!
Great place to take the family and scouts for fast and easy catching. Looking forward to another trip!
