[shocked]An Odd Request! Can anyone tell me how and where to catch some chubs at Scofield tomorrow? I need some to freeze for next summer. Can they be caught in the arm by the dam? What depth? What bait? What technique? I've never caught a chub!
Thank you!

Try 10 to 20 ft of water, small hook I like size 18 treble, with a small piece of worm near the bottom. you should catch a bunch. Try off the boat docks at the state park.

If I were you I'd try to get them closer to when you want to use them...
The longer you leave chubs / cutbait in the freezer the quality of bait goes down.

I agree that you should find them in 10-20 feet of water. When I was trying to catch them last week, I had good luck in 11ft of water with the tiniest jig I had and a wax worm on it. I would pull it up off the bottom a couple of feet and jig hard until I got some action. I caught 7 or 8 in 30 minutes and then got back to the real fishing.

I agree with the reply about water depth. 10' to 20' of water and fishing barely off the bottom will surely produce chubs. Out from the Madsen Bay boat ramp, by the boat docks or the dam arm will all hold chubs if you find deeper water. They will usually hit the same things that the trout do. Good luck!
