dear creek report 2/22/15
#1
we decided to brave the weather sunday and determined that our best bet would be deer creek, we arrived at the mouth of provo canyon where the wind was blowing very hard, went on up to the lake and found good conditions but air temp was cold 30deg f. lanched at the main marina note water temp was 42 deg f. set up with just about every thing we had in the boat trolled spoons on the the down riggers at 15 to 30 feet, no love set up some long lines with jointed shad raps , in perch and immediately started catching fish. switch up lures types several times and never found any thing they liked better than the shad raps on long lines. ended up catch around 20 cookie cutter bows missing about that many more . thanks to sotally tober for bringing his boat and inviting me to come . we kept no fish and don't worry none were snagged, my friend has a bit chip on his shoulder at times but is very conservation minded and a get outdoorsman. sorry to cold for pictures but a beautiful day. p/s had the boat decontaminated before we left but beware they put hot water in every nook and cranny of your boat so don't leave anything in a compartment that has a drain on the outside of the boat it will immediately be filled with water. we also found out that they will have 4 decontamination stations set up during the summer. but even with those if you go on a high boat volume day you will be there for a while. just fvi.
