I found out about geo caching 2 years ago. It has been a blast taking the grandkids out and letting them find the cache. They will take trading goods with them when we go so that they can swap for the hidden treasures.I also found a great new place to fish when we were looking for a cache last year. Anyone that has a GPS and has not tried geo caching should give it a try.You can download caches for just about anywhere you may be going in the country.DKS

Color, that's great! I assume the "holy cow" was for the price. I wish I could afford it.

Now days you can mary a GPS receiver with a PDA with some killer mapping software on it and get WAY more functionality for your money. Imagine, voice prompting while traveling (boating, driving, hiking, etc), higher res screen with more colors, software that will build what it thinks is the best route from point A to point B for you, etc, etc, not to mention all the other things the PDA can do. The only drawback is that most PDAs are not as rugged and weather resistant as a traditional GPS units.
