I've been a lurker for a while now and it's probably time I start contributing so please be understanding while you read my less than wonderful report.
I decided to hit Mantua Friday 03/06. I've only been there once before and the water was hard on that trip. I finally made it to the reservoir at 1:30PM. I parked on the South East side and walked to the bump on the east side (Little Knoll?) I found a spot I liked and setup like I often do, one pole rigged with doughbait (I'm working on ending this tradition all together) and on another rod I try whatever seems to make sense. At about 4 the DNR officer came around and while I was talking to him I had my first bite. At the time I was floating a worm. Shortly after he left I decided to start throwing some of my bass gear. I tied on a SK 3/16th oz. jig with a 3" SK Rodent trailer. I ended up catching a 14" Largemouth and second one a little smaller.
