I'm usually on this site everyday, so I thought I should start contributing. Me and my boys like to fish Mantua because it is close to home and there is a good variety of fish. We've become expert at fishing, not so much at catching! Every once-in-a-while we'll have a good day.
We decided to try for our first bass of the year today. Fishing was slow and the wind was bad, but we still had fun and managed our best bass ever from Mantua. This was our only fish of the day, but it was worth it. After a few pictures we let it go for someone else to have some fun with.

Great fish. That's a good way to start the bass season.

My God, what a bass!!!! [shocked] What did he way. Did you release it? That would have been a tough decision to make for me. [:/]

Don't know what he weighed. I guessed about 5 pounds. Yes, we did let it go.

That is one fat bass, nicely done! Too bad that tail is all chewed up! Great job releasing it.

Nice fish and THANK YOU for releasing her. That is an old fish that would take over ten years to replace. Now she is off to spawn and make babies for our children to catch in a few years!!!

So no weigh, but maybe a measure? 5lbs looks about right, over 20 easy I'd guess.
That fat mamma has been around the block and it shows. Few battle scars. Very nice CPR there. Well done. Happy kids!
