I know this question gets pounded everywhere, but would anyone that goes to Strawberry let me know the conditions. Especially at Soldier Creek. I plan on going a couple of days this coming weekend. 3-20 and 3-21.
Thank you so much.

It was around 14 inches by The Strawberry Marina, with very little slush, on Saturday. Unless we get more snow up there I doubt that slush will be much of an issue between now and ice off.

I fished Soldier Creek on 3/15/15. Ice was about 12" in most places we fished with a small amount of slush on top. It was really easy to pull the sled around, and was able to back the truck down the ramp to unload. It was very convenient, which helps me get the wife (33 weeks pregnant) out with me. It was a gorgeous day with the temps in the upper 50's. We were able to hook into both Rainbows and Cutts with the wife pulling out the first 2 fish, so that was awesome. We fished, and also caught anywhere from 15-35 FOW with the fish mostly hitting in the 20' foot range. We used the standard 2" tube jigs in motor oil color with a black fleck, and a yellow 1.5" trailer and dark with red, blue, fleck, both tipped with 1/2 a meal worm. The darker colors worked well as it was partly sunny to cloudy conditions. The bite was light and there were some "window shoppers" coming through, but my wife figured out how to entice some strikes by teasing them a bit with a slow game of cat and mouse. Her hook sets were great and impressive to watch. We fished NNE from the boat ramp around some small rock islands that are part of a long point that comes out halfway into the bay. For us moving around was the ticket to stay on a somewhat active bite. Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about getting out there.

So, 12 inches of ice on one side and "opening up" on the other. When do you think ice-off will come this year? I should probably add, "Where?" since ice conditions seem to vary a lot from place to place.

The Ice conditions for strawberry and solider creek are about the same right now. Anywhere from 12" to 15" of ice. The only open water at strawberry is at the ladders due to the increased current from the inlet. I would expect ice off to occur in about 3 weeks unless another cold front moves in. I will post current ice conditions tomorrow.

I'm heading up to solider creek in the morning. If you go to solider creek you will need to bring a ladder to cross the open water at the shoreline. I broke through yesterday and went to my hips by the boat ramp.

Ah don't let it bother ya. I will leave the ramp on the ice when I cross. I tried a few different spots to get back on the shore but It was all slush about 10 feet out. There might be some other solid areas around strawberry that is good. solider creek marina is one of the first spots to ice off.
