Last time I was out was at Provo around the docks. That was on March 27. Temperatures ranged from 50-60 according to my Deeper sonar. I suspect the average is around 55 right now. Maybe a little less now with the cold front we're seeing.

It's getting warm and starting to stabilize. I was out there on Sunday and the warmest water I found you had to get out of the boat to get to because the water is so shallow. I wasn't very happy about that but I'll do just about anything for a fish.

Did anyone providing the temperatures catch any catfish? If so, what bait? I've got a friend that swears different water temps call for different baits so I'm doing a completely unscientific anecdotal study for myself because I think he's full of it.

I was out just North of the state park last Friday and my fish finder said the temp. was 51 degrees. We caught five catfish in about an hour in 2-3 feet of water using John Morrell hot dogs (it was all we had).

I cant' tell you how many catfish I caught on hot dogs growing up in Texas. Except for the turkey dogs. I'm not sure any mammal will eat that!

Were you fishing the bottom or under a bobber?

Thanks for the information.

I've never fished for cats on a jig head. Did you have it under a bobber? On the bottom? I'm hopefully heading to Lindon tomorrow to drop my boat off in their dry storage and wanted to wet my line while I was down there.

Thank you for responding!

Fishing on the bottom with a small split shot and drifting with the wind. When we drifted to close to shore and the motor started to drag I would head out and start over.

I was just drifting in my boat and dragging my bait on the bottom with no additional weight. Most hits where of the violent type. Most of the fish hooked theirselves.

Thanks @wiperholic and @ice_sled. I'll put those little tid bits in the old memory bank.
