Starvation report (we starved)
#1
Not from lack of food either. Between the entire group that numbered about 20 at one point in the day, there were 4, count them, 4 Walleye caught.

Right at 4:30 it was Predator that struck first, almost. He had a hit that broke his leader. He quickly rigged up again and managed to catch the first Walleye at 10-11 inch. Second to strike just a little later was FishingWaters. His was 11 inches. Not to be outdone, Fuzzyfisher stood up to the plate and landed the days whopper at 9.5 inches. Curtisfish got the last one. It was not measured, but was about 10 inches. The four fish were sent with fishingwaters and son so they would have a snack on thier way to Fish Lake tomorrow.

I had a great time. That's my first eye through the ice and I couldn't beat the company. I've been wanting to meet more of the group and I got the chance to do so today.

I know that I will miss someone, please don't take it personally. I just suck at remembering names. Help me out with the ones I forget and the ones that left before I got there please. I saw PREDATOR, petty4life, Fishingwaters and son, fuzzyfisher, Walleyebob (who were the two with you?), Jedburton and wife, HOOK-IN-MOUTH and firend, and who could have missed Tomegun and his artificial sun. I LOVE THAT HEATER! I'm sorry I missed Wiperhunter2 and One eyed jack. I'm told they were there, but left before I arrived.

Thank you everyone. I had fun.

[#ff0000]ARTIFICIAL SUN???? [cool][/#ff0000]

That is classic!! [laugh] My single burner is but a solar flare next to his I imagine.

If it's a triple burner I haven't seen it yet.

I will be attending services at the Church of the Seventh Day Angler tomorrow at Jordanelle. My daughter will be in attendance with me. I hear there were a ton of people up there today. Hopefully things will be a bit quieter tomorrow. [Wink]

It is just a single burner, but it's a 45,000btu single burner! I could feel the heat from 10 feet away with all of my layers. All I can say is I want one!

[Wink]Sorry that I cannot attend services with you tomorrow. I've been a member for quite some time, but didn't even know it.

I thought it was you that came to the group next to us . I was fishing with MGB . I don't think I got one hit today , but got to play with my new fishfinder a lot today . Sorry we didn't get the chance to speak to you . I was loading up my truck and just getting into it to leave when I heard all the yelling and seen Predator bring that one up . Right on guys !!!!!!! I was humbled today . But I will blame it on the moon . LOL

LOL! Mine's a 14,000 max so yep, kinda like a solar flare, or...flicking a bic lighter next to his but it's very adequate for getting the hands warm if need be.

Sorry you can't attend services tomorrow. I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers. [Wink]

[blush]I knew I'd miss someone. I even knew you guys were there. I didn't get over to say hi and that's the better part of why I went today. Sorry I didn't get to talk with you. I'm sure we'll meet on the water somewhere soon.

You didn't miss me. I was home in bed, asleep and quite warm thank you. I wasn't prepared to fish today. I needed today to pull my gear together, fuel the auger, and pay some tything at Sportman's. Most of all I wasn't prepared to wake up at a very cruel hour this morning and get to Tomegun's house. That just didn't seem right to me.

Sorry we missed you Chad, I was riding with Polokid and after the sun hit the ice the walleye action died, so we went to Jordanelle. We were fishing close to the guy that gave you those fish last week or someone he knew. He sure knew were to fish and how to catch the eyes, he gave us 4 eyes and one perch, nice guy. All I can say is, Starvations ice eyes are tough. WH2

[#000080][size 2]That wasn't me daddy! I was sitting in a blue chair next the artifical sun in a sled with 24 gallon box. I was shooting my mouth off all day. I was either talking to Walleyebob or Predator and his peeps for most of the day. I did talk to Fuzzyfisher for awhile, too.[/size][/#000080]

Thanks for the help with the names Tomegun. Thanks for the heat too. Sounds like there were more than I thought that I either didn't talk eith or left before I got there. I thought I'd let someone who was there tell the tale of Polo's dog. Sounded like quite the sight.

I think you got everyone Tomegun, it was good to met you and everyone that was there today. With the full moon or at least three days after a full moon, I was wondering if it might have been better to fish during the night, burrrrr. WH2

Hey WH2,

Any machines on the ice today at Jordanelle? I only have 40 miles on my ATV I got for Xmas 2002, and I'm dying to use it on safe ice. Its pulled an elk, it needs to pull some fish.[Wink]

Hey WH2, how was the ice and the fishing at Jordanelle?

I guess me and Brad are heading up in the morning. We had to choose between Utah Lake, Redmond, Sevier River, and Jordanelle. We pretty much flipped a four sided coin and Jordanelle gets the pleasure of our company tomorrow.

Just wondering how the ice is holding up and if you caught fifty big fat 15" Perch.

And by the way. Great day today. It was fun meeting everyone even if the fishing was a tad bit slow.

[cool][cool][cool][#000080][size 2] It was so funny. Polokid's little black dog was so funny. The dog went to 1st guy that was there, and started taking the guy's walleye and started running all over the place. The guy(lack of a name) didn't bat an eye as Polokid tried to chase his dog all over the lake. Petty tried to give Chloe(the dog) beef jerky, but she was only interested in fish. I gave her a Jordanelle frozen perch, and she ate it very quickly. I'm so tired . You ever tried to catch your dawg when it thinks your playing chase, lmao[cool][cool][cool][/size][/#000080]

No machines on the ice at all, we were fishing by rockcliff
along with 100 other people. I'm not sure how far you can go toward the middle(toward the dam) but there were people about 1/2 mile onto the ice, the ice was 4 to 7 inches depending on where you were. An ATV would have been nice to have on the ice today, we moved around alot until we found the fish. The catching seemed to get better later in the day but we were not there early so it could have been good early also, good luck if you go. WH2

We fished on the south side, the area that is close to the main road. We caught about 30 small perch, none over 9 inches and three trout, one around 16 inches. We were in 18 ft of water and were marking a lot more fish than we caught.
We used some of Tube Dudes chartruse bait bugs and white whata-crickets from Hooked. we tiped them with perch meat, meal worms and night crawlers. We were about 15 to 20 feet from the hill below the main road that goes around the lake to Rockcliff.
You guys should have seen Polokid's dog at Jordanelle, that dog must have eaten 15 perch, he even tried to steal perch for everyone around us, what a fish dog.
We talked to Kastmaster on channel 12, he was fishing close to the center in 7 or 8 ft of water I think he said. WH2
