Had a few minutes and hit the lower Weber river today. I was using a jig (of course), and tied into this pig of a brown. It was 23 inches long, and as you can see in the picture, had the jig pretty far back in its mouth. Released the beauty to fight another day.

Nice job!
Just curious what your definition of lower weber is? I'm not looking for the spot just curious general area. I.E. West of Uintah, Morgan to Mtn Green, Henefer to Morgan.... etc.

For me, the lower Weber is anything west of the mouth of the canyon in Uintah/South Weber. I will say that it was in the Ogden area of the river.

Thanks! I've not done very well fishing the lower weber, I tried around Riverdale once and didn't get anything, could have been the time of year... caught a handful closer to the mouth of the canyon, but I usually fish up higher, maybe I should look into other parts of the river.
Thanks again for sharing!

The lower section for me is hit and miss. The quantity is really lacking, I rarely catch more than 1 or 2 on any day and have had my share of fishless days. But the quality can be really good when you do catch them. I've caught more 20 inch plus fish in the lower section than any of the other sections I've fished.
