So I hit the south marina at 0700 Saturday and fished with my friend Tony till about 1735. Tony unfortunately out fished me this time on my own boat but this was not due to us not working for it. He landed 3 wiper (small) except for one and one nice Crappie. I on the other hand landed one wiper that went back to become a bigger boy. The water temp started around 51 and rose to 54. We trolled almost the entire lake. This was the first time I almost ran my boat out of gas, LOL. As for today (Sunday) my son and I went out around 1100 and trolled the north side and a spot around that and had no luck. We didn't stay more than a few hours so that may have been our issue. Heading back into the marina I saw a few pontoon guys hooking up as well as a bass boat. I asked how they were doing and one of the pontoon guys (that had a fish on) said this was his 11 wiper. They seem to be very shallow and in a false spawn which I believe because the one wiper I cleaned was full. The Crappie appear to be moving closer to the marina as I have been marking them the last few days. I also spoke with a DNR cop after he arrested a guy for drugs and he said they are doing a big undercover operation trying to catch the bucket BDE. If you see them please call the TIP line as we need to preserve our fishery. I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

Well, at least I wasn't the only one having a slow day on the bay! What part of the lake was this pontoon getting into them and how shallow are we talking?
I tried everything and all my spots with only one dink!
(the Bucket Brigade (bde) is the shore fisherman who line the marina, sometimes shoulder to shoulder, when the crappie come in to spawn)

Man, he isn't kidding about working for the fish. We trolled all over the lake, there was no great spot it was all one's and two's.
Thank's for getting me out.
Good luck today.

Are you guys catching by trolling or do you work the shorelines slowly?

Trolling although the shore men seem to be doing well. I haven't noticed much going on up in the rocks but that is usually around walleye spawn time.
