heads and guts...
#1
If you clean your fish at the river or lake, dont throw it back in the water. take it with you and throw it away.. And take your trash with you too.. The weber below rockport has turned into a landfill and there is 2 huge dumpsters there with very little trash in it. its on the way out. you have to pass them. Doesnt make sense

I thought the recommended legal thing was to dispose of carcass\Guts in the body of water from which they came.

I guess i misunderstood the guide book. You are right. I thought it wasnt allowed in waters with whirling disease.. I should have titled it heads guts and trash. Either way, its garbage to me and i dont really want to see it. Thats my opinion..

2015 guide book:
At most waters, you may fillet harvested
game fish, or remove their heads or tails, after
you have:
•Completed the act of fishing
•Arrived at camp
• Reached a fish-cleaning station
•Arrived at a principle means of land
transportation

Note: Do not dispose of entrails and
carcasses on the bank. Leave them in the water
where you caught the fish.

I guess its more for not spreading to other waters and not to other fish in the same water... The people i do see gut fish on the bank, do not wait til they complete the act of fishing.. Im not against keeping fish, im against fishing in a bunch of garbage.

I agree with you. I don't like seeing guts in the water either, it looks sloppy. Finding trash and empty bait bottles lying around pisses me off even more.
Pick it up people!

Yeah its a joke to see empty powerbait containers, lure packages, and soda cups all over the place. I wish the DNR officers would place heavy fines on those that litter, I bet you would see less trash quickly

Where are you reading that? Here's a couple of quotes from the guidebook:

Quote:Note: Do not dispose of entrails and carcasses on the bank. Leave them in the water where you caught the fish.

Although whirling disease does not affect humans, and fish from affected waters are safe for human consumption, we need your help to prevent whirling disease from spreading to uncontami- nated Utah waters:
• [red]Clean fish where you catch them. Do not transport fish—alive or dead—before cleaning them.[/red]
