Ken's Lake - Moab
#1
I fished Ken's Lake yesterday in my kick boat. This place is like a large urban fishery but this part of the state doesn't have a lot of options to satisfy fishermen. I used a medium sinking line with various color leeches, buggers, and soft hackles on size 6-8 hooks. I would list the flies that worked the best but all of the ones I tried, caught fish. The fish were all recently stocked rainbows from 8" to 12" long. This is a great place to take kids to learn how to fish. They will have a lot of opportunities to hook up. The water temperature was 53-56 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 5'. you can see from the pictures the reservoir is about half full. There were several other folks fishing during the time I was there and most of them were catching fish.
If you need something to do while the kids are out biking/hiking/fourwheeling or what ever, throw in your fishing pole and give Ken's a whirl.

Pretty place. I haven't fished that corner other than Powell. I think the closest I will get there this year will be west water.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading down Moab way in a few weeks myself, and hoping to wet a line. Is there any other fish besides rainbows in there?
