Another catfish beating from the boy, although I caught the first fish 2 mins. after the shrimp hit the water. He put 5 in the net after that before I had any more bites! I threatened to make him swim back! We launched from Provo boat harbor at 6:30 pm and anchored on the lee side of Bird Island to stay out off the chop from a stiff breeze. We ended up with 8 Channel cats..Spencer 6/ old man 2. All were taken on shrimp sprayed with garlic flavored Bang. We also picked up 1 each mud cat and white bass. All of the boys fish were in the mid 20's, mine were smaller. Put them all back to put on some more size. water temp was 60 deg. Stayed out till 10 pm but had no action after 9pm. In a side note, I am looking for a new fishing buddy, must be able to launch and load the boat and have absolutely no fishing skills what so ever!

I would of stayed if would have known I would have been in the picture,[sly]. had enough of the wind by then. The water temp as 55 out where I was, been seeing more cat fishermen out there lately, one of them tucks in that hole over by where I was, been doing pretty good from what I can see. If you see me out there say hi next time. The wind has come up the last two nights just after I get there about 5, blew me off Tuesday, tried to tuff it out last night, only cold find white bass, still a few eyes rolling. Did it ever stop last night.[fishin]

nope, stayed windy the whole time we were out, we called it early because of the wind and a problem with my 12v. outlets on the boat, I have never used them yet, but tried to plug in my spot light last night and it was a no-go. no power in either outlet, one seemed shallow and on closer inspection there was a egg sinker in the outlet. I am thinking that blew a fuze somewhere, so that is my project for today. glad my fish finder has gps, took me right back to the harbor even in the dark.

got to love the gps! And it was a blown fuse for the outlets, so a quick and cheep fix, thank God, I hate having to take the boat in for any fixes. I have yet to hit any thing out there, but I am an old hand at the island and give it plenty of berth when I come in. Have seen too many hit that long arm not knowing it is there, even with the gps I always come in slow and switch to the trolling motor while watching the depth.
