Drop Shot Rig
#1
Ok peeps lets talk drop shots?

I like to use an octopus hook and a skinny thin drop shot hook. I like to use the old roboworm and my baitof choice.

Tell me what you use in your drop shot setup! I am curious to see what you all use out there or if there is some changes that you make to the rig.

I too have switched to an octopus hook. I seem to get better hookups. Useing small fluke for bait as well as dome small purple worms.

I really like owner mosquito hooks, they work good for power bait too.

Depending where I'm at and what I'm fishing for determines the hook but mainly I use Gamakatsu Octopus hooks. When I'm fishing thick brush piles or trees I use Hall's Hooks 2/0 octopus hooks. He custom makes wire weedguards on some very sharp hooks.
Roboworms and Strike King Dream Shot for most of my Utah stuff.

Don't limit yourselves to finesse presentations. I too use octopus and mosquito hooks for "drop shot" presentations but have also beefed up the tackle to 1/0 and 2/0 fine wire off shank worm hooks, baby brush hogs, and 3/8 oz sinkers. There have been many occasions when the power shot has out produced traditional drop shot.
