Cheating on the Web. 5/11
#1
Got there about 1:30 and cast my prince. Hook up first cast, a 18 " bow. Well ===== moved 10 ft. and cast again, another hook up and a 17" bow. Now what? Am I done????? Well, took Rusty on stick /roam and kept my fly rod. Went dwn stream about 500 yds and cast again, Shoot --- another hook up and a nice bow. Well, -------couldn't release. [frown] Needless to say, I had to retire my rod. I'm now over my dinner keep limit, for me. Am eating the extra fish as a penalty tonight. My wife said that is my penalty. [laugh] Some penalty, huh, All in all just 2 1/2 hrs on the river. Flow @ 41 scfs. Really low flow this time of year.. Kudos again for river flow management for this time of year. Especially for us fisherman and obviously water conservation.
No pics, they are just the same as always and I don't want to get into another argument of bow vs, cut. [:/]

Some people have all the luck Big Grin. I was just up there for the first time today. Spent 3 hours and found one fish. Hopefully with time i will become adept and learn the secrets of the Weber. Sounds like a great time on the river, but as i've always heard, "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work"

Nice catch! Do you ever get into any nice browns in the stretch of river you fish?
I hit one of my honey holes last week and had pretty similar luck. Most of the bows I usually cook up are from Strawberry or deep in East Canyon and they have that almost salmon like deep pink meat. The big river bows meat was almost a pale whitish color. Is that your experience too? They taste alright, but I prefer the Strawberry fatties better than any trout in the state.
