Strawberry this weekend
#1
I'm headed up for a Father and Son's outing this weekend and haven't hit the Berry since January. I have a little boat and it sounds like the weather is not going to be conducive to getting out on the bigger part of the lake. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth taking the boat and hitting Mud Creek bay where I can be somewhat protected from the wind, or if I should just leave it home and fish from shore.

Has anyone been in Mud Creek lately and done any good? I'd sure appreciate a little help on this one.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm going to run up to the Berry tomorrow and will be launching my boat in Mud Creek and fishing that area. I'll let you know how it goes.

I will be up in that area as well! Look for me in a camo duck boat with a long shaft sticking out the back!

I think I may have you seen you. Were you with another guy who was also in a flat bottom duck boat? I saw two flat bottom boats come out of mud creek and head straight North and then come back in about an hour later. Was that you?

I'm headed up tonight and will return on Saturday. Hopefully my arms will be too tired to type from catching hundreds of 5 lb cutts, so I'll likely post my report on Sunday. Smile[fishon]

Hit the Berry as planned this weekend. Only fished on Friday and it was slow. We boated 3 and had 4 more on. I was trying to help a kid who has never caught a fish to land one and he didn't get the concept of keeping his line tight. Sad

The weather was pretty rough. We had a lightning and hail storm hit which pushed us off the water. Not sure what the actual wind speed was, but it felt like 60 mph! The storm came out of nowhere. We had to beach the boat to get off the water till the lightning passed, and after that, the kids were done. Loaded up and headed out. Sad

The fish that did hit were on white and green tubes, and wooly buggers. It seemed like most of the fish we marked were either right on the bottom or suspended between 0 and 35' of water.

I hit the berry as well on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Skunked Friday and Saturday, and was on the lake as well when the hailstorm hit, it stung! Finally found a good spot on Sunday boating 13 fish, 9 cutts and 4 bows. Most fish were caught on a black and yellow panther martin or just soaking a worm.
