I hit Jordanelle this morning. It was a balmy 3 degrees at 7:30. I took my 4 wheeler out today and the ice was fine. I fished the south shore in 12' of water. Ice was 6" thick, a little slushy in places. I brought home 3 Rainbows and 29 decent perch. I threw back 22 trout including a 16" brown and around 60-70 perch. My smallest perch keeper was 7" and the largest was 10". I had 7 or 8 over 9". There were around 15 other people fishing today, mostly to the east of me toward the campground. Most people were standing watching their poles. I didn't have that luxury. The fish were active under me until I left at 3pm. One foot below a silver castmaster I was using a flourescent yellow Shrimpo with no plastic on the hook. I would then thread a waxworm on the hook going in at the back end and coming out at the head so that the worm covered the entire shank of the hook. At times my vexilar would show solid fish from the bottom to 5' off the bottom. I knew the trout were coming when the perch would disappear off the screen. The majority of the fish would bite 2' off the bottom, but I would first bounce the jig on the bottom for about ten seconds. I hope this was informative enough for all interested parties. I'm heading out again Wednesday if anyone is interested in meeting me out there. Be sure to see my attached photos as well as my IFG entries. Tight Lines...

Welcome Slayerace,
That is a nice haul from Jordanelle. That is one way to get BFT into the picture!

Slayerace,
Were you in the State Park or at Rock Cliff? It was slow for me and my son last Saturday at Rock Cliff from 12-3 pm. There was quite a crowd at Rock Cliff last weekend.
Thanks for the report.

Kastmaster,
I was in Rockcliff. I think shallow is the key. I believe that they spawn fairly shallow. Maybe the Tube God knows. (Tubedude) I experimented using Perch meat and mealies when they were biting well and they just prefer waxies. They also seem to hit better when the bait is still. I also have been dipping my baits in Kickin Bass attractant.

There is no requirement to be a registered user by January 1st to participate in the contest. This was answered by BLM on another thread and also the final rules make no mention of the necessity of being registered on January 1st.

Good! I thought you had to be on the site before jan 1 to compete, thats better I was thinking it wasn't fair to all who join us later. I've got no chance of winning this thing anyway but it is fun to be one the scoreboard. I must not have read the final rules when they came out.
