Powell cradads?
#1
Headed to Powell for a few days and am wondering if we ought to take the cradad traps.
Are there enough to make it worth the effort?

Not like the Gorge or Soldier Creek. Wayne Gustaveson's opinion is there is a great number of them at Powell, but they stay hidden because when the stick their heads out from under a rock either a SMB, LMB, Striper, Walleye, or Channel Cat munches them. There are so many mouths to feed that a poor crawdad has a rough time.

You don't see em because they are hiding or in the stomachs of SMB, LMB, Walleye, Channel cats, and stripers.

Over the years we have tried traps, but never caught more than a very few. Had bass puke some up on the back of the boat, but like the others said, they must hide.
