So I went up to Morgan to hit the Browning Outlet Memorial day sale (highly disappointed). I decided to drive up and check out the water level at Echo, and needed an excuse to get a Taggerts cheesecake... But holy cow, she's filling up fast! Made me wish I would have brought up the boat!
Didn't fish today, but saw about 1/2 dozen nice trout cruising the shoreline sucking up the recently submerged bugs out of the rocks.
Excited for Monday, if the weather isn't too bad I'm going to see what she has to offer!

Can shore anglers fish off the dam without paying the park entrance fee? Is there the $3 per car fee like you see at Rockport? Will be passing by Rockport on the way to and way back from Hinckley Ranch next weekend for a scout camp--and that would be the perfect place to stop.

We've mainly shore fished the freeway side nearer to the dam so have never had to pay an entrance fee. We have been checked twice up at our car for fishing licenses and amount of fish caught by DNR but not for an entrance pass.

I'm sorry, I didn't make it all the way up to the ramp. There were a couple larger boats out there though so I imagine its good to go!
There are a bunch of those yellow government no trespassing signs on the dam so the dam itself is off limits.

I went past there yesterday and it does look like the water level is up from last year. that is a good sign. Thanks for the post..
