Electric Lake 5.24
#1
My brother and I decided to try our luck at Electric today... We got up there at 7am, fished till noonish. Cloudy all day and pretty cold, got up to 40degrees I think. Water was around 45deg. We wanted to see if we could catch any Kokanee and see if they are getting size yet. We caught 4 Kokes, 5 Cutts, and 1 Tiger. For us that's a pretty stinkin slow fishing trip. Our biggest was a 13in Cutt. The Kokes were still small, biggest maybe 11in. But still fun to catch. They sure were stacked up by the dam, but nothing wanted to play down there. Caught everything on Rocky Mountain Tackle with squids. Unless we hear of better reports on the Kokanee we'll just stick to Strawberry this year and try Electric again next year when the grow a few inches. Here's a couple pics...

It has been a lot of years since I have trolled that lake, sure looks low. Sounds like you did pretty good, especially on the kokes. For a small lake that isn't a bad size for the kokes, it will be interesting to see how big they get. Thanks for the report and pics.

Thanks for the report and pictures.

It looks like you had a good day on the water with calm conditions.

The kokanee were first stocked in 2013 as 2.5" fish so it looks like they are growing pretty good.

If you don't mind me asking, how deep did you have to go to get to them?

Thanks.

They'll get size soon, small but fun to catch. We caught them, from 5-30ft. We saw big schools of fish in the big bay by the dam, but they were down at 80-100ft.

Thanks for the information.

It's nice to have another species to go after in Electric Lake.
