We plan on going to either one next week to camp and fish. Never been to either. We'll have a small boat. I'd like to know about fishing, wind, camping and which one you would prefer to go to and why. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Red Fleet is like a very, very miniature Lake Powell. Just a Beautiful place nestled in Sandstone washes. Campground and restrooms were very clean but very close to one another. Kind of like a large parking lot with scattered faucets. I have never been there on a Holiday weekend but have not encountered many campers or boaters for that matter.

I would recommend Red Fleet. Nice camping, views and decent fishing for rainbow trout, LM bass, SM bass, walleye and small bluegill. The lake is very low but a small boat should still be able to launch. Best to call the state park for latest conditions. Wind is always a possibility in the Basin.
Sandwash has some good fishing too for rainbows, SM bass, yellow perch and I think LM bass too. Not sure what camping is available since most of it is surrounded by private land. Lake is full and launching shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, both lakes do, but I guess I neglected to include them since they aren't quite as high of odds of catching them. My bad! [shocked] Good catch Kent.
