Berry from shore 5/31
#1
Went up yesterday and fished from shore. Met family in the AM and we hit Haws Pt and Renegade, only pulled 1 out, 17 inch Bow.

We went to the aunts land at Bandana Ranch and went back out after.

It was about 2 pm, we fished for 3 1/2 hours on the Soldier Creek side.

Was using Garlic Rainbow Powerbait and Corn Powerbait and we started to kill them. We each had 2 poles and the minute I would cast they would hit. It was a blast. We ended up keeping 3 bows, about 13" because they swallowed the hooks and the fight tore them up.

I am not complaining to much, bought a new smoker the other day and smoked some trout from the last couple of trips in it and it was amazing, can't wait to get these three in.

Nice, do you think the location was key to why you did better later in the day? Did you try any lures?

Funny, I keep hearing about all these small Bows' from Soldier Creek, I have been catching nice ones on the fly rod...odd.

I tried spinning both Silver and Gold, I didn't go a jig route which I could have but I noticed they started biting when they were active up top and jumping.

Every time I have gone up to SC this spring, I have run into tons of the smaller ones. Fly rod or spinning rod. I haven't been able to keep them off of the line unless I use much larger streamers or tubes.
