Bait help for Uintas backcountry
#1
We are headed to Granddaddy Basin area, I usually use flies, hardware, and plastics with good success.

But I am wanting to try a bait, like gulp minnows, or worms that are not real, but are bait not plastic, or jigs that are bait, just searching. This is as opposed to bringing nightcrawlers in, as they weigh, hard to keep.

Open to ideas, mostly for Brook Trout.

I've seen individuals use powerbait with success on a lake that was not producing well.

Salmon eggs should also do okay.

Just hope you are planning to keep anything you catch using bait, whether that is 5 inches or 15 inches.

Gulp minnows and leeches on a 1/16-1/8 jig head are killer in the uintas. Also marabou jigs are killer. I like to bounce it off the bottom and usualy they take on the fall. I don't know where you located but I could tie you a batch of marabou jigs if your interested pm me.
