Strawberry Report 7/3/15
#1
I was up at the Berry two weeks ago and caught a nice 27in 6lbs cutt. we were trolling Rapalas behind the boat. But I have never seen it that slow before. Does anyone have a recent update on rainbows and cutts from the boat? The full moon may put a damper on the fishing this weekend.

[:p] I just got back from Strawberry at 2:00pm today. Plenty of boats on the water getting ready for the 4th tomorrow. Three grandsons and myself fished from 8:00am until 11:30am. It was getting so hot we called it quits. We didn't catch a fish and only saw one boat bring in one. Last Friday was exactly the same except it was three grand daughters and myself. I think the fish are on summer break.

Water temp was 67 degrees. People were swimming to stay cool. Even saw one water skier. Saw fish jumping but no takers.

My son and I fished there on Sunday and Monday from the boat. Sunday we caught 23 fish and Monday we got 27 fish. Only 3 were rainbows and each weighed 2 lbs 8 oz on the scale. The rest were cutts. We tried for kokes for two hours on Monday morning and never got a bite so we went back to catching cutts.

Pop gear and worm was the ticket in 45 ft of water. In the afternoon some weight to get the pop gear down kept the fish biting.

I think the cuts are still spawning on the solder creek side, there was about 100 of them swimming around the boat ramp, some on nests. seen some pretty good size ones also. this was last week.
