Fished Pineview on Friday from first light until about noon chasing the muskies. No hits, follows, or fish. Targeted water 0-15 feet deep and fished different structure from shallow weeds to deep rock banks. I expected to at least see them cruising in the morning or sitting on the banks. I also expected to get a follow or two. Anyone else have luck or pointers to finding the fish? Not sure if the full moon had in impact.

I usually do well with a fuller moon. Surprised you were able to fish til noon today(being 4th Madness and all)! I guess you did say Friday though. I haven't been up for a couple of weeks but I known I were a musky, I'd head for cooler, deeper water right now. So hot!!

If I had to bet, I'd say its the full moon. I've always done very poorly on a full moon.
I was up at Joes Valley on Friday and Saturday, and it was brutal.... two days, no fish, no follows, no nothing. Saw several bruisers cruising around, but they had zero interest in my lures. I talked to several other fisherman on both days, and the DNR guy, and no one had caught or even heard of anyone catching anything. I did manage to hook one trout out deep, but it came off before I could hand the rod off to my girlfriend. That's a long way to drive to get shut out! Fred K.

How deep do they go? Do they not go into the shallows to feed in the morning and evening? The lake was packed with other boaters. When we left the Port ramp there was a line of boats waiting to get in that went out to the main road but because there were no parking spots they were only letting people in when someone left. I can't imagine waiting for that long. The traffic didn't start getting thick until ~10 or so so we hit the main lake areas first thing then went into more protected areas. Overall not too bad given the amount of people there.

I think it's futile to fish when there are 100+ boats roaring around all over. Can you imagine the volume of sound under the water?

I went Friday evening got on the water about 5:30 left at 9:00 didn't see a thing the water was pretty murky. I knew there would be to much boat traffic this weekend but the wife and little one wanted to go so could say no to that.

Sure they will come in shallow (wherever the bait fish are). I have seen people have success trolling out deeper this time of year on different parts of the lake but that isn't my style personally or at least I'm not set up to be effective at that method.

That's TM fishing time on water and learning patterns and lures. Time on water is all I'll really say.

Yeah, I've been at it since last fall. I feel like I am learning the lake a lot better but the success with getting follows or locating the fish really hasn't improved. Finicky fish for sure.
