We drive Murdock Basin all the time in several of our vehicles including a big Chevy diesel 3/4 ton pickup, a decent driver can do it in 2wd without indident or injury. The road is a bit rough but very worth the drive, the goldens can be quite elusive but the brookies are plentiful. Last weekend I caught a very fat 15 inch brook trout that is not very common for the stunted growth pattern of that area, more typical are 10-13 inchers that are very tasty.

Ha I was looking at some pictures from our trip the other night and realized that this wasn't a Brook Trout. I actually did catch my first Golden Trout!! It was almost as exciting realizing that as catching a fish! Nice to know that rough drive paid off for more than just the beautiful lake!
