heading up with my son for some backpacking. any gouge on what fish or techniques to use?

Talking about Little Hidden up by the Devide Lakes? If so marabou jigs in black,brown or olive will work well for the brook trout.

Sorry, forgot this was the flyfishing section. Try beadhead buggers of the same colors on a fast sink. You want to think deep for the brook trout.
