Skunked at Willard....again
#1
I was hoping that rain storm yesterday maybe could have sparked the dreary fishing at Willard....well, still very poor. Trolled north bank, light pole, west bank. Nothing at all. Still very murky. Oh well, I'll give it a few weeks to pick back up. Thanks to Wiperhunter for the advice though. Much appreciated.

Well thats too bad, for as good as it was earlier this year, it sure has been poor lately. Did you try using rattle trap type lures?

I did, old faithful, silver with the blue. I have a few different sizes, I was using the larger one today, trying to get the most rattle and the biggest shine I could. The last wiper I caught was off the smallest one I had. The shad are still really small, so I figured I'd match things up. It worked well that day. I'm thinking about going to Jordanelle this week, I've never been. Looks like a nice place to take the wife and boat for a day. Willard is in timeout! Lol

I hear you on Willard needing a time out and if the water doesn't clear up, I think the catching will remain slow. Jordanelle should be good as long as you get there early, water skier get bad around noon.

Well Frank, believe it or not, I (and probably many others too) really do appreaciate your attempt at fishing Willard. But what I am even more glad for is that you posted it so that I won't waste my time for a while. But seriously ... thanks for posting.

Coot, no worries. I've been on leave for a week, so I guess it's better to be on the water than be at work. Figured I'd still give it a go. I live pretty close to Willard, so it's not much effort for me to fish there. You're right though, skunked fishing reports are pretty valuable as well.
