Sorry for the delay for those who I talked to before, but here is the report from our Jordanelle trip yesterday (Sunday).
When we arrived the boat ramp was more less vacant, looked like about 5-7 others had arrived sooner. We headed straight for the Rock Cliff arm and waters were just above 60 degrees at about 8AM. At first we were the only ones trolling up and down the canyon, but a few folks seemed to be staying pretty stationary just beyond the buoys.
We were using leaded line about 100' feet behind the boat, pop gear and a worm... nothing fancy. We were trolling between 1.8-2.2 mph according to the fish finder/gps. About five minutes into our endeavor we got our first hook up, then another - the first double I've had trolling in quite some time. After that we caught a fish about every 5-10 minutes until we left to head back to civilization and a birthday bbq for my little brother.
Towards the end I tied on a CD-3 perch patterned Rapala and caught another rainbow almost immediately.
All totaled we caught 11 rainbows, all around 16" and one brown of equal size. My wife and I both had a great time, for the most part all the other boaters were much more courteous than I was expecting (based on my last experience at Jordanelle). It was a great experience... Now bring on duck season [
