Its been a while since I was able to get out and then post a report so here goes. I decided it was high time to get out and wet a hook. I have had a busy month and a half and decided screw it...time to go. I arrived at the pond around 9:30 ish and proceeded to set up my toon. Soon after another car pulled up and the driver recognized my toon. It was frmrusmc... Nice to meet a fellow member. He set up his ODC tube and was soon on the water with me following shortly thereafter. There were some bank tanglers set up next to the ramp and they were pulling in fish. One had what looked like a wiper.
This trip mainly was for me to test out a new fly reel that was sent to me to field test, but that never stopped me from bringing other means of catching fish. I was impressed with it. I had a few hits on a dry fly from rising trout but hooked up with three planters using silver spinners. After I was out of the pond frmrusmc landed and stated he had caught a little cat. So no skunk today![
] The water temps at launch were 68 degrees. 70 right by the launch ramp. No or little wind at all. I found a few places to try this winter when the pond freezes over and the fam wants to get out and do a little ice fishing.
Sorry no pics of the fish, they were all a little camera shy today. Just the normal planter rainbows is all.
