Calm and clear on Bountiful
#1
Its been a while since I was able to get out and then post a report so here goes. I decided it was high time to get out and wet a hook. I have had a busy month and a half and decided screw it...time to go. I arrived at the pond around 9:30 ish and proceeded to set up my toon. Soon after another car pulled up and the driver recognized my toon. It was frmrusmc... Nice to meet a fellow member. He set up his ODC tube and was soon on the water with me following shortly thereafter. There were some bank tanglers set up next to the ramp and they were pulling in fish. One had what looked like a wiper.

This trip mainly was for me to test out a new fly reel that was sent to me to field test, but that never stopped me from bringing other means of catching fish. I was impressed with it. I had a few hits on a dry fly from rising trout but hooked up with three planters using silver spinners. After I was out of the pond frmrusmc landed and stated he had caught a little cat. So no skunk today![Smile] The water temps at launch were 68 degrees. 70 right by the launch ramp. No or little wind at all. I found a few places to try this winter when the pond freezes over and the fam wants to get out and do a little ice fishing.

Sorry no pics of the fish, they were all a little camera shy today. Just the normal planter rainbows is all.

Was hoping you would report catching a ugly stick , that some species of fish took, and disappeared with while fishing with my grandson, and not paying attention. [Sad]

Oh, heck its been over a year ago, just sitting on the bank not paying attention, when it launched ,and disappeared pretty quick. Only bite of the day, and don't have a clue what it was, but it was fast. [Smile]

It was good to meet you! I didn't realize you got a picture with my Tongue hanging out of my face.

That was the first time on any tube and I have to say I liked it! I finished my mods on it after I got home from the pond. I'll have to wait until next week to try them out.

It sure was a great day to get out and fish. A nice and calm day.

Welcome to the world of tubing. As you have found out tubing has its advantages over big boats. Especially at this time of year when there is no water in many of the reservoirs and lakes. We can still get on and harass the fish without the power squadron harassing us (i.e. UL). I have to redesign my net holder. It has broken twice in the same spot this year.

I like how easy it is to get things set up. and quick. Im already looking forward to getting this 4 days at work over with so I can get on my tube and check my modifications to see how they are going to work.
