I may be the only one on here, but I would really like to know a couple of things if any of you can help!
I read constantly about fresh chub that is being used to tip a tube jig.
My questions are: Where do you get the chub meat from? Is this something that sportsmans warehouse sales?
Also, what does your set up look like with the tube jig? (how much of the meat do you use to tip)
I really appreciate the help in advance!

Yes you can get chub at SM. I use about a 1 1/2 piece if chub right on the hook behind the jig. Cast out let sink almost to the bottom retrieve it back slowly and I mean SLOWLEY...
Lifting it about a foot then let drop again each time in a lightning type motion. If you feel any resistances set the hook. Hook sets are free so set on any tick or bump. Got 55 Friday that way.

Because chub, like any fish, has a limited amount of time that it can be kept without it being frozen or processed in some other way, most fishing with chubs is done using ones that have been frozen. Sportsman's Warehouse often has frozen chubs, but not always. One does not need to use a large chunk of chub. I keep my chubs partially frozen (thaw out a little and then keep the chubs in my ice box with Blue Ice) and cut off about a 1/2" long chunk with a pair of inexpensive shears. Tip the jig with the chunk and leave the nook exposed. Be sure to tie the jig hook on to the line (do not use a snap) and make sure the tube is hanging horizontal. I don't know the reason but I get far more bites with the tube horizontal than when it is hanging vertical. Cast and bounce back or just drop it straight down, usually just off of the bottom.
