Trial Lake 11/1/2015
#1
So after getting skunked Saturday, I was determined to have a good day Sunday.

Arrived at Trial about 1pm. There was quite a bit of wind, and the fishing was slow until about 3pm. The wind died down, and the fish started biting. I caught 7 trout, my brother 5, and my nephew 2. we were using worms, and small spinners, with the majority of catches on worms. we finished fishing about 5pm.

It is getting cold up there, so packing warm is a must! There was actually quite a bit of snow on the ground. The temp was 45 degrees, but the windchill made it feel colder; a wind breaker is very helpful.

Any idea when the Uinta lakes freeze over? I would like to get a couple more trips up there this year. The scenery is beautiful, its a nice drive, and the fishing is always fun.

Could be any day now. The colder it gets down here the colder it is up there.

I'm not sure if the lakes freezing or the road closing due to snow will stop you first. A good storm or two and the road is likely to close. You can check status of road closures online at the commuterlink website. I would post a link, but for some reason my browser flagged it as suspicious. Commuterlink.utah.gov is the site. Just look for seasonal road closures.
