My son leaves next Tuesday for 2 years in Colombia and we wanted to hit the water on Friday. He loves perch and smallies and I hoped someone could give me an idea of where would be good to go. We have done well at Mantua, Pine View and Jordanelle in the past but I haven't been out for a couple of months. Any insight would really be appreciated.

I hit Mantua today...ZIP!! Caught 10" perch and a limit of crappie Saturday at Pine view. I was at the Port ramp, out about 200 yards in 38' water. The perch was the first fish and only perch of the day. He hit a 1" gulp minnow. The crappie hit jigs, minnows, and worms. The larger ones seem to like a pink and white tube jig in 43' of water.
Hope that helps!!!

Starvation is always a good spot for smallies and perch.

thanks for the reply. I had seen how low Mantua is and decided against it, so your report on PineView got me excited and that's where we ended up. It was beautiful weather with almost no wind, and fairly warm. We caught quite a few small perch but enough to make dinner when added to the crappie we caught. It took a while to find a school but did finally get into them north of the marina and had enough action to keep us happy. Thanks again for the reply and good luck on your next outing.
