Hey all greetings form the dead. Know that I have finished school I may get to start fishing a bit more. Anyway the family and I are heading down to Quail Creek for thanksgiving and I was wondering if any one could offer any pointer on where to hit with my tube not to mention with your favorite way to fish this lake. I have to make up with my tube, I hope she will take me back. HEHE

Thanks for the heads up. My oldest is not quite big enough to drive the tube by her self so I put her on my back up tube and lash mine and hers together. I would love to get her on a bass.

If you want to put her on bass, I'd go anywhere but Quail...
Sand Hollow is just down the road and has infinitely more fish. If you simply must go to Quail, I would fish the road side, and I'd throw big streamers/buggers (assuming you're throwing flies). Top water is always fun, and believe it or not, they'll hit top water all year long down there. There is a restroom building down toward the dam and you can park your car right by it. That is a decent point right there and there is usually one or two piglets hanging around there.
But seriously, I'd go to Sand Hollow.

Thanks for the info, we are just camping at Quail. I will probably get my state parks pass back and then I can go back and forth between sand hollow and Quail.
Again thanks for all the info.

I recently relocated to St. George and have taken the tube out to Quail Creek twice and Sand Hollow twice.
I fished Quail Creek towards the damn, along the buoys, all the way across the lake. The only thing I caught were blue gill. Hoping for bass, not even a hit. I tried top water and multiple jigs/lures along the bottom. It was really slow.
A local fisherman told me that trout will bite up near the inlet, haven't given it a try. If you find the bass, let me know. I hear there are some monsters in there.
Both times I went to Sand Hollow I did really well and caught some nice bass. If you want me to point you in direction at Sand Hollow give me a holler, I fished a great spot.

Koko, you aren't alone man, Quail is a nasty mistress 99% of the time. Even in very serious tournaments down there, you could count on a handful of boaters coming to weigh in with zero.
As for SH, the east side, underneath the big radio tower, is a fail safe area. All along the eastern shoreline is $$$. Top water is fun toward dusk and into the night -- nothing better than not being able to see your spook, but only hearing the crash of the strike -- and I like to toss a BitsyBug jig (I think they're like 1/8 or 1/4 oz) with an olive or sprayed grass crawfish trailer. Their is an olive looking one with a few strands of bluish/pearl in it, and that one seems to be my best one. (wish I could remember the exact name of the color) I also like texas rigging a 6" worm with the smallest sinker you can manage. Most of your strikes will happen on the fall, or if you let it just sit on the bottom for 10 full seconds. (be sure to leave your bail open until it stops sinking -- it really does make a difference) If I don't get a hit after 10 seconds, I'll bounce that sucker in slowly.
If slowly isn't working, I'll use that same jig and put a Skinny Dipper in sprayed grass, bullfrog, or green pumpkin on there and jerk/swim/hop it around the bottom.
If none of that works, break your rods and then cut your hands off; fishing isn't for you.

Thanks for the info boys. I am looking forward to this trip. I have not been down there for like 6-7 years ago and last time i was down there a buddy om mine picked up a small 8 lber off of a point up by the inlet, but it was also spring time as well.
