Fish Lake from Shore?
#1
So my GF wants to rent a cabin this weekend up at Fish Lake for my birthday. We don't own a boat and after talking to the Marina, it's going to be spotty at best to rent one from them as they said ice was forming at the marina today.

How is fishing from shore over there and where are the better spots for it.

Right by Fishlake Lodge where the little stream dumps into the lake. You may have some success. Best chance at any trout . fish in or near any of the weeds and it can have fun with the perch, and there are plenty of weeds near the shore every where.

You can also drive down the hill a few miles and hit forsyth for some tigers

This is an awesome time of year to fish Fish Lake from shore. Lake trout and splake will still be in shallow.

The marina will most likely be empty of boats, and for the most part empty of people as well. You'll probably find a few people fishing the mouth of Twin Creeks, as was already suggested. This is a good idea, but expect company. But I'd bet nobody is fishing the marina itself. I know there are signs up to not fish the marina, but if the boats are all pulled and nobody is launching, then go for it. Lot's of nice fish are cruising in and out of the marina using those springs to attempt to spawn (or feed!).

Other options are to drive up to Pelican Point and fish with cut bait in the evenings. Lake trout and splake may be cruising those shallows looking for a quick meal.

Forsyth reservoir was drained this year. Not many fish left there, just a few small cutties that were stocked this year.
