Fatfish 949 vs Clam xl2000

Have narrowed it down to these 2. Anyone used either? Have had a quickfish3 for a number of years and has been a good one. Just looking for opinions. Have seen a couple reviews of the fatfish peeling on the inside, I find that hard to believe but if it is true then I dont want it.

I'd go with clam ice tents any day comparing to the crappy Eskimo series.

I own a Frabrill 2 man ice tent, an Eskimo quick fish 3 and another Frabill 6 man. I am looking at getting the Eskimo Fatfish 6 sided. Roomier than my Frabill 6 man and I think the quality and durability is a little better also. The Fatfish I am looking at is a little bigger than the one you are interested in. Mine would be quilted (insulated). Fairly heavy (over 50 lbs) but with a snowmobile to tote it onto the ice, it doesn't really matter much. I have really liked my Eskimo quick fish... a lot. I would match it up to any brand. I likely will sell the Frabill 6 man and Eskimo quick fish 3. I don't need 4 ice tents. I have had my 6 man for 3 seasons, this would be my 4th. My quick fish 3 I have had for 4 years and this will be my 5th season. I have not had the quick fish 3 out on the ice in the last 3 years. Both are in great shape. I have the fat fish and hate it. Sucks in the wind,which is the only time I want a tent, and cheaply made.

I have seen interiors peeling and recommend staying away from that model, but if you have a bit more $ and can handle more weight, then check out the 949i (insulated). The interior is a thermal quilted layer and it appears v. tuff. Just got it and set mine up in the backyard last weekend and I'm anxious to try her out on the ice. About $50 more and I feel its worth every penny, and the 949 is roomy too as you probably already know.

I looked at the insulated version. I am on foot towing the sled so weight is definitely an issue for me. I ended up ordering the clam last night. I thank you all for the opinions. So I will have a quickfish3 for sale if anyone is interested.

I just bought the Eskimo 6120i tonight. It is the bigger version, 80 sf of space, and insulated. Weighs 52 lbs. It seems to be a very solid tent. The salesman told me it was very solid in the wind. Says he has used one. Guess we will see. I am looking forward to using it this winter. Only down side I see to it is the 5'-6"+ length when packed and folded. Gonna need to modify my sled to be able to get it out on the ice. I would certainly not want to pull it anywhere on foot.
