Fish Lake Updates?

Seen a few posts on Fish Lake and some water freezing around the edges.. Was wondering if anybody has been down that way or has heard of how it has been? Have some days off coming up and thinking about possibly heading that way with a boat, if possible.. If anybody would let me know, thanks..

Yeah, I would love to know for the exact opposite reason--I want to get down there sometime (hopefully soon), not with a boat, but an ice shanty

Was there on the 4th...not sure who gave the freezing report, maybe somebody who hasnt been there? Extremely open water and water temps in the mid lake around 48. Trolling was great, jigging was great. The mackinaw were in horrid post spawn shape. Caught a few big ones with huge heads and skinny eel bodies, normal for this time of year. By thanksgiving, the whole place should be electric fishing. Marinas will freeze around then but you can always launch the main lake. Was it PBH who said it was freezing or some other fish genius? love to hear.....

Was up there last night. 8 pm the air temp was 22 and no ice in site on the main lake. Pulled into the marina at the lodge and it looked like there was ice starting between some of the docks.

Can't exactly remember, but they said the marina told them the edges were starting to freeze-up. Is there another place to launch the boat from other than the marinas then? I have only been down that way with a boat once and that was this year and we launched from the marina by the Lakeside Store and ice fishing we come off the marina by the Lodge.. Where is the main lake launch at? Also, is it a good idea to leave the boat in the water overnight this time of year if you are going for a couple of days trip, or better to pull the boat out every time? (A pontoon boat w/ an outboard motor)

Any boat of any size would have be launched from one of the three marinas. You would have to make your own call on whether or not it is safe to leave your boat in the water overnight.

Was going to try and get one last trip in to Fish Lake this weekend, just got off the phone with the resort and they said they have closed their marinas because they are iced up.. A bit disappointing, but also excited!! Ice fishing coming fast!! Hopefully..
