fishing Starvation Reservoir

a guy called me yesterday and said lets go to Starvation Reservoir
and get some big rainbows.
so today, started fishing at 9:30 stopped at 12:15
only got 3 rainbows
wind was 17 to 19 mph then got up to 26 mph
we tried to troll with one planer board and three downriggers that did not work
was down to using one lead line when we run into this bunch of fish wind was pushing us 3.2 mph so was thinking if we went into the wind we could use one lead line and one downrigger that did not work the nose of the boat was coming out of the water 4 ft. so we gave up.

Should have gone to Powell. I am kicking myself I wimped out.

We fished rabbit gulch Saturday. Couldn't find walleyes, find big rainbow at 70 ft of water suspend at 25. Very calm wind, caught 7big rainbow (22 inches ) and maybe 10 small, about 12 inches. Pop gear &worm

Hey! I think my son talked to you at the boat ramp. That wind sucked but we used it to our advantage. We wound up doing really well. We caught our limits and threw a bunch back - all football rainbows. Was kind of hoping to pick up a few walleye but no such luck. Of course Strawberry was calm as could be as we drove past. Go figure...

was you there Wed the 18th, we did not see any boats, and we were the only truck and trailer in the parking lot. we talked to two guys fishing the bank by the dock. They had 4 fish.
when we went up Strawberry had white caps going up and coming home.
looking at your picture the water looks flat compared to what we were fishing in.
that was the first time I had fished Starvation Reservoir, but I want to go back.
Did you see fish like that on your fishfinder?
nice fish you will need to tell me how to catch them.

Oh yeah we were there Thursday not Wednesday. It was still pretty windy. I did see fish on my fish finder. The rainbows are suspended 15 -20 feet deep.
