Mantua Ice
#1
Anybody know the ice conditions at mantua? Saw a few guys by the boat ramp today. Would like to get on the ice there but the next couple of days high temperatures have me cautious. Hoping the ice holds!

When I drove past there Sunday coming back from cache valley the lake was about half capped. Lots of open water in the center and around the edges except by the boat ramp. It most likely won't be thick enough for another couple weeks.

I will never trust someone else to tell me if ice is safe and I will never tell someone else if ice is safe.

Well I figured my coworkers in the car with me wouldn't want to wait while I go around the lake checking ice conditions and waist company time doing so. But I'm sorry, next time I'll grow a pair and go check for myself while I'm on the clock.

What is the point of this rant? Maybe the guy couldn't stop and was curious if anyone has been up there. This is a fishing board and asking questions is completely fine. I see alot of keyboard warriors any more treating people like crap from the safety on the other side of the screen. Ever heard of netiquette?

Barely 2" on the lake but very sketchy. With rising daytime temps over the next several days, it will be awhile before it's safe.

Walk out on your own risk.

I went up there today too but I was by myself so I didn't go out on the ice. Thank you for your post and pic.
