After reading Westslopecutt's report on Anderson, Kali and I decided to give it a try. Between entertaining our one-year-old grandson we hooked into three rainbow....one 17", one 18", and Kali caught a very heavy 21'er. He was one beautiful fish. We arrived at 11, and left at 1:30. The fishing wasn't fast by any means, but the trout are worth the wait. They fought like crazy. The water is gin clear. Well, off to CJ next week, weather permitting. Thanks, Ron, for the tip!! Mike

Are you sure they were rainbows or were they those chinook that were planted a few years ago?

Yep, positive. No black mouth!! We went back one more time, trying the evening fishing. Not so much as a bite. Mike

No ice as of the 25th, at least on the lower end anyway.

Ice all the way to the dam is very rare from my experience.

Avery and I were in the area chasing bucks with the bow. Would have had more luck bank fishing probably.

Glad I could be of some of assistance with the tip and like I mentioned in my first post, the best thing was the fact that Anderson was a great spot to go to try this year for the first time in a while, at least for me.
I ended up trying it 3 more times in November after that first trip on Halloween but it was never quite as good in terms of overall numbers of fish caught. I did manage to catch a few more nice sized Rainbows in those 3 visits and as a bonus, on one trip I caught a 3 lb. Smallmouth.
This particular Rainbow was probably the best of the bunch and like Kodiak mentioned, all of the fish I managed to hook were healthy and hard fighting which is always nice!

Again, thanks for the tip Todd. I'll be heading back this spring trying to find a chinook. Hope the kokes are as cooperative this coming summer as they were this past year. Mike
